Desert festival returns to Neelpur: what to book and what to skip

The four-day festival runs from 4 to 7 November. Tent stays sell out by mid-October.

• Book: the folk music night (INR 500).
• Book: a sunrise camel ride.
• Skip: the "VIP" parade seats.

Tents range from 2,500 rupees a night for a basic tent to 9,000 for a luxury camp. The cheapest option is a homestay in town and a shared jeep to the dunes, which costs 300 rupees return.
